A RICH KID who splashes his cash on sports cars and luxury holidays has said homeless people should "do more" to get off the streets.

Appearing on the most recent episode of 5Star's Rich Kids Go Homeless, 20-year-old Dan makes up to £75,000 a month as a currency trader.

As a young millionaire, Dan is no stranger to the finer things in life and boasts a £5,000 trainer collection, £15,000 watch, £500 T-Shirts as well as his beloved sports cars.

For his 20th birthday, Dan spent £16,000 to rent a yacht in Spain and said it was one of the "best experiences of his life".

During the television experiment, Dan will be sleeping rough on the streets of Southwark in London - which has twice the number of homeless people than the capital's average.

Before leaving his luxurious home, Dan admitted: "I always get confused as to how they got there because I feel they must have done something to be ditched by all their friends and family in the first place.

And while Dan thinks he'll have no problem getting off the streets within the three day experiment, his best mate doesn't even think he'll last 24 hours.

Along with arguing that the homeless should "do more" to help themselves get off the streets, Dan said: "[They] can come off as fairly scary or fearful because you don't know what their intentions are or how desperate they are for money."

Going in with a plan of action, Dan believes he can make £100 in a day begging on the streets - which he'll then put towards a stay in a hotel.

With nothing but a sleeping bag, Dan sets up outside a small convenience store on his first night - but quickly realises he's "not a fan" of begging.

Having made just 50p in two hours, Dan changes strategy and moves from Waterloo to London Bridge.

Outside The Shard, Dan admits that he'll spend up to £1,000 in the exclusive Shangri-La Hotel whenever he comes to London - which is a far cry from the piece of cardboard he has to sleep on over the course of the experiment.

Although he makes £5 within a few minutes, Dan is confronted by a homeless man in the error who warns the millionaire not to beg in his area.

Dan said: "As soon as he came up to me, I thought 'oh f**k'.

"I didn't know what he was going to do, I didn't know if he was going to smack me but he just came up and sort of passive aggressively had a go at me."

After being told to move along, Dan decides to sleep outside a community centre - but is disgusted by the amount of cigarette buts on the ground.

He said: "I feel a bit vulnerable sleeping here and worried that someone could walk up to me and touch me or do whatever.

"You don't have your own privacy. It's not like you're locked in a room, in your own bed nice and warm. It just doesn't feel very human."
