FLOWER POWER

Stacey Solomon makes the most of her time at home by upcycling an old colander into a beautiful hanging plant pot

STACEY Solomon is known for her impeccable organisational skills and crafty DIY hacks, and now the celeb mum has shown how to turn a basic kitchen item into a beautiful outdoor feature.

While cleaning out her kitchen cupboards, the Loose Women panellist, 30, discovered she had two very similar items – but only has use for one, and thought to turn the unused colander into a hanging flower pot.

Taking to her Instagram stories, the mum-of-three admitted to her 3.2 million followers that she didn’t have a hanging flower pot – and always wanted one – so decided to make one instead.

Stacey took some fake hanging vines she already had and mixed them with a bunch of daffodils to make a colourful flower arrangement.

She then placed the arrangement inside the colander and attached an old metal chain which she’d secured using safety pins.

In just a few quick and easy steps, the TV star revealed her beautiful hanging pot which she’d hung outside in the sun – and it looked incredible

She was so impressed by it that she even had to sing and dance while showering under the pot

Impressed by her efforts, Stacey wrote: “I actually love it so much. I can’t wait to go to the garden centre and get some real hanging plants to put in it.”

She loved it so much that she even decided to shower herself underneath it while dancing to Hear’Say’s Pure & Simple in a hysterical skit.

Stacey has spent a lot of time in her yard of late, soaking up the sun with her son 10-month-old Rex and partner Joe Swash, 38, while in lockdown.

Since moving into their Essex home a year ago, the couple has been working tirelessly to transform their family home into their ideal haven, which has seen the crafty mum put her skills to use.

Recently, Stacey transformed empty candles into DIY bird bath and feeder by gluing the glass jars to a timber chopping board.

After attaching it to her garden fence, she turned the biggest candle into a makeshift bath and filled the others with nuts and seeds – genius idea if you ask us.
