Stacey Solomon attempts a three-hour DIY manicure during coronavirus lockdown – and it’s so bad she ends up ‘crying’
STACEY Solomon decided to give herself a DIY manicure in isolation after breaking a nail - and it certainly did NOT go according to plan.
The Loose Women star, 30, showed her 3.1million followers that her nails needed attention after the green gel polish was left chipped, with one nail entirely bare.
She said on Instagram Stories: “I am receiving a high volume of messages regarding my nail situation. Sexy.”
The mum-of-three reassured fans that she had her own kit at home and didn’t need to wait until after the coronavirus lockdown to sort them out at a salon.
She said: “Don’t worry I have some nail bits from when I thought I’d become a nail technician so I’ll give myself a spa day tomorrow and try to save the talons.”
Today, Stacey shared the results of “three hours of acetone, filing, sweat and tears”, and unfortunately for the Essex-based star, the DIY manicure left a lot to be desired.
Gone were the lime green nails, and in their place Stacey had attempted a rather patchy job with white gel.
She said: “Erm done. I think I’m laughing but I’m not 100% sure that I’m not crying.”
Stacey later added that she has received an influx of comments from people saying they preferred the green colour.
She joked: “So did I Sally, but there is nothing I can do about it now as I’ve ran out of acetone and this [showing her nails] is like actual cement.”
Stacey is often praised for being down-to-earth and showing an unfiltered version of her life on Instagram.
Previously, Stacey admitted she was going to ditch leg-shaving and time-consuming hair removal during lockdown.
Last year, Stacey continued this message with her three million Instagram followers, when she shared tongue-in-cheek stories on her feed about embracing the "fuzz" after her baby bump left her unable to shave "below the knee".
