And wanting to provide a little light relief from the headlines, the pair watched a viral video in which a viewer suggested using your underwear to protect yourself from the outbreak.

In the clip the unnamed woman says: “We all know there is a world shortage of masks due to the coronavirus, and I think that we’re come up with an alternative idea.

“It’s just a simple thong, everyday thong, that we ladies wear all the time.”

Demonstrating how to put it on she says: “It just goes over the head like that, and clips behind the ears. We’re all trying to stay safe in the Bolt household.”

The camera then pans to “Rob” who has his own thong before switching to the woman’s mum with a pair of baggy pants on her head.

She adds: “I don’t know if my mam’s quite got the idea, mam we’ll have to dig you a thong out, I think your knickers are a bit too big and slack.”

Both Anton and Steph were left in hysterics after being tickled by the viral video.

Following the clip, Steph was quick to warn viewers that the video was a parody rather than genuine medical advice.

Anton, who is self-isolating with his wife Hannah Summers and their twins in Buckinghamshire, jumped in to say, “we do this all the time in our house.

“Because we are nappy training, we’re wearing pants on our head all of the time.”

The first episode of The Steph Show aired today after being brought forward by Channel 4 to cater for an audience on lockdown.

You can catch it weekdays at 12pm where Steph will broadcast live from her home that she shared with her partner and their four-month-old baby girl.
