Mum shares amazing platter to make from leftovers in coronavirus quarantine or if you can’t find anything in the shops

A MUM has shared her tip for serving up a dinner made of leftovers for anyone who’s self-isolating due to the coronavirus outbreak.

With many supermarkets bare and the shelves empty, one mum gave some advice to fellow parents who are stuck over what to serve up.

, she revealed a plate piled high with breadsticks, cheese, marshmallows, crisps, grapes, pastries, chocolate buttons and fruit.

She said: “For those of you stuck at home in quarantine, this is an easy way to make a meal with all the bits in the cupboard and fridge that you already have.

“Save those online shopping orders when you can’t get what you want anyway.”

Her idea has racked up more than 2,000 likes, as mums admitted they serve the same dish in their house, which goes by many different names.

One mum called it a ‘this and that’ meal, another said ‘picky tea’, or a ‘bits n bobs tea’, one parent said it’s a ‘pick and snack’ in their house, another called it a ‘choosing plate’ while others named it a ‘carpet picnic’.

Commenting on the post, one person said: “Looks yummy even if not in quarantine to be honest! Enjoy!”

Another said: “My type of quarantine food.”

While a third wrote: “That looks pretty much like our diet atm!”

Fellow parents have praised her idea and admitted they do the same in their house

But not everyone was convinced by the platter, saying it didn't look like the healthiest meal.

One person asked: "Who has this much junk food, would be ill eating this."

Another thought: "Wouldn't say this was a meal by any stretch. Awesome family snack for movie night though."

While another added: "Not exactly a meal but looks bloody tasty!"
