ICE-T’s wife Coco, 40, hits back at critics who slam her for breastfeeding four-year-old daughter as it is ‘comforting’
MODEL Coco Austin has hit back at trolls who claim it's ‘weird’ she still breastfeeds her four-year-old daughter.
The wife of rapper and actor Ice-T shared a snap of herself feeding their daughter, Chanel, to .
The 40-year-old shared the intimate snap with her three million followers, saying that she ‘breastfeeds for comfort’.
She wrote: “At a time when the world feels like it's coming to an end.. suck up as much love as you can!
“I know the moms out there will appreciate this pic!
"I've been getting alot of props in the breastfeeding community and get tons of emails from woman/moms appreciating me bringing light to the subject.
“I write a baby blog about my journey with Chanel and soon I will write about what it's like to continue boob time with a 4 year old..
“I get tons and tons of requests that want me to speak on it!”
Despite being praised for sharing her experiences, Coco also received a backlash for continuing to breastfeed her daughter aged four.
But Coco confirmed Chanel also eats ‘real’ food, as well as breastfeeding.
She continued: “At this point in nursing it's just for comfort and believe me the girl loves meat so it's not like she isn't eating real food..
“Thank you to all that understand my view..
“I see most of you are so eager to side with me and I too root for you in your journey as well.. Us moms are connected.”
Coco added that she would ‘wean when they are ready’, also adding the hashtag #toddlerbreastfeeding.
Her post has racked up more than 50,000 likes, but people claimed it was ‘weird’ for the mum to breastfeeding her daughter.
One person slammed the practice saying: “A little weird at 4 years old.”
Another asked: “Wow still at 4!?!?"
A third stated: “She’s 4 feed her some real food.”
This person thought: “That’s weird I’m all for breastfeeding but after two it have to stop.”
While someone else commented: “A 4 year old still breastfeeding?? Hell no.”
But others defended the mum, with a fellow parent saying: "This makes me so happy to see!
"Currently breastfeeding my 10 months old. Thank you for normalising feeding toddlers."
