Mum cleans her vacuum cleaner pipe in the bath and is horrified by how filthy the water gets
A MUM was shocked after she deep cleaned her vacuum pipes in the bath and realised how filthy it was.
Corrina Collette said she cleaned the bag and filter regularly, but noticed a smell coming from the appliance - which she’s named James - every time she switched it on.
Corrina, who has two dogs, decided to give the pipes the clean in the tub with some Zoflora, and was horrified by how dirty they were.
She shared a snap of James to Facebook group , where her post has racked up 1,000 likes.
Corinna said: “Left my hoover pipes (James) in the bath today with some zoflora.
“I have two dogs and thought it was smelling when on - filter and bag done regularly.
“Absolutely shocked by what came out the pipes.
“Have dried as advised by others on the radiator til I went to bed and then hung over the door.
“I could have bought new pipes but these weren’t broken so I don’t see why they should end up in landfill.
“James isn’t smelling anymore so I will take this as a job well done.”
Fellow cleaning fans were suitably horrified by the results, and vowed to give their own vacuums a deep clean.
Praising her idea, one person said: “I have 4 dogs… this explains A LOT.”
Another wrote: “I’m doing this now with Henry pipes. His pipes were minging.”
A third admitted: “I just did mine and it made me feel sick! Super gross thanks for sharing.”
While someone else added: "Never thought of doing this great idea."
