ONE mum has shared photos of her huge stockpiled grocery haul - but insists it's nothing to do with coronavirus.
Food shortages have been sweeping supermarkets worldwide with shoppers stocking up on essentials - such as toilet paper, hand sanitiser and pantry goods - amid the coronavirus outbreak.
So when one Australian woman, from New South Wales, shared her huge haul online, people assumed she was hoarding because of the outbreak - but that was actually not the case.
The mum revealed that she simply enjoys supplying her family with a packed pantry while scoring a bargain on supermarket goods.
Over the years, the thrifty mum has collected so many household items that she's even had to convert her laundry room into a walk in pantry.
Taking to Facebook, the mum shared photos of her extremely organised room online which is completely filled with hundreds of grocery items to ensure her family never runs out of food - or at least for a VERY long time.
On explaining how she does it so efficiently, the thrifty mum revealed: "I only ever buy half price or less for items to stockpile. I wouldn't stockpile perishables unless you are positive you will use them."
And to ensure nothing goes to waste, she rotates the items so that those with a closer used by date will be used up first, although most items she has stored will last up to a year.
Most of the time her family will rely on the stored pantry items, and will occasionally have to purchase additional meat, fresh fruit and vegetables and dairy.
The savvy saver has been stockpiling items for the past five years after going through a time where she "couldn't afford to feed the family".
Her trick is to bulk buy items when she sees them on sale so that she never has to pay full price, or run out of her favourite goods.
When she spots the discounted items in the supermarket, she would buy as many as six at a time to ensure she is always well stocked.
And not only is there every item you could possibly think of, but the room is so organised that you could walk in and find anything you need with such ease and speed.
A couple of the photos show some very well stocked shelving units which has stored a huge selection of canned goods, pasta sauces, jarred pickles and cheese flavoured corn chips.
In addition to the pantry goods, there is also an endless supply of toiletries including body wash, shampoo, hand soap and various other bathroom and cleaning supplies.
While another section of the laundry stores a range of other pantry goods including jarred sauces, breakfast spreads, tea, coffee, cooking oil, snacks and a cleaning collection that is so impressive even Mrs Hinch would be a fan.
Shelving units aside, though, even the bench space is stacked to the ceiling with toilet paper and kitchen towels, with baskets full of pasta and sanitary items also in full view.
We are certain the storage room contains far more than we could see, or even imagine, and props to her because she has managed to stock up this much while still saving a fortune - even the storage units themselves were purchased at a discounted price.
One thing's for sure, the savvy mum as it all worked out and deserves to treat herself to a luxurious trip with all that money she's saved.
