Mum makes FOUR WEEKS worth of lunchbox snacks in one go to save time in the mornings, but not everyone’s impressed
A SAVVY mum has shared her tips for making four week's worth of snacks for her kids lunchboxes for just £40... but not all parents were impressed with her efforts.
The mum preps food for her children a month in advance, bulk baking portions of muffins, rolls and cookies which save her time each morning.
She shared her haul to Facebook Group, , showing drawers full of snacks in labelled ziplock bags - but fellow mums felt this was excessive.
The mum spends two days preparing lunches ahead of time, whipping up 120 choc-chip cookies, 125 corn flake cookies, 36 fruit muffins, 30 marshmallow cones, 57 bags of popcorn and 57 cupcakes.
She also batch makes cheese and Vegemite scrolls, cinnamon sugar scrolls, chocolate slices, homemade jelly, and even has time to make gluten-free options as well.
The mum then freezes everything in individual portions, making it easier to pop in a lunchbox each morning, but other parents criticised the amount of plastic she used to store the treats.
Despite the negative reaction, the mum claimed the massive food prep only costs her £40.55 ($80 AUD) for four weeks, after she switched to home cooking to save money.
She said: "It was costing us $70 in pre-packaged food a week and this cost me about $80 for three to four weeks.
“The jellies alone are 80 cents each and now I get five from one 80 cent packet.”
Her meal prep has racked up 322 comments online, as people both praised her organisation skills and criticised the packaging.
One said: “Well done mumma, that would save so much time every morning.”
Another wrote: “What an awesome mum!”
While a third praised: “Wow how organised, well done.”
Others thought too much plastic was used, despite one mum defending: “The plastic bags can come home for wash and reuse it’s easy.”
But for anyone looking to copy her homemade snacks, the mum shared some of her recipes with fellow mums.
Classic cup cake ingredients

Meanwhile this mum was slammed for putting skewers in her son's lunchbox as other parents thought they're too dangerous.
Plus this mum hit back after being lunchbox shamed for prepping her five-year-old daughter’s meals days in advance.
And this mum was fuming after her four-year-old son’s teachers shamed her for giving him gherkins because they ‘don’t count’ as veg.
