A CLEANING fan has shared her thrifty tip for getting her tarnished jewellery looking good as new - and it only takes a few minutes.
Lee Tilghman shared her budget tip with her 300,000 followers on - and it’s gone down a storm.
Lee, who often rocks some bling, noticed her jewellery was looking a little worn, as the metal began to rust and discolour over time.
In a bid to revive her collection, she raided her cupboards to make a home remedy.
She shared a snap of her bling fizzing away in a glass, as she hailed her three-part recipe for restoring her jewellery.
The secret to getting her jewellery to shine again is a mixture of water, washing up liquid and hydrogen peroxide - which lifts the dirt away when mixed together.
Most people have dish soap at home already, and the acid can be picked up from as little as 89p at the chemist.
Lee said: “Unbeknownst to me I just discovered a home jewelry cleaning solution!
“I used a squirt of @mrsmeyerscleanday dish soap and a few tbsp hydrogen peroxide with warm water.
“Watch with amazement at the jewelry excreting dirt in real life.
“Check first to see if your jewelry will be safe in there with... your jeweler or something.
“I hear baking soda and vinegar work too but I didn’t have any on hand. #springcleaning.”
- Hydrogen Peroxide 6%, Pharmacy First, 89p -
