Mum shamed by teacher who says her daughter’s lunchbox is ‘too much food’ – and refuses to let her eat it all
A MUM has revealed she was lunch box shamed by her daughter’s teacher, who refused to let the tot eat all of her food.
Taking to the Facebook group Lunchbox Mums, the anonymous woman from Perth, Australia, asked fellow parents if she was packing “too much food.”
She shared a snap of her five-year-old daughter’s lunch that day which, she says is not dissimilar to the one she sent her to school with.
Captioning her snap she wrote: “Does this look OK? My daughter had similar to this yesterday.
“She came home with just popcorn but then told me her teacher was grumpy and she needs to bring fruit for school.
“She had fruit in there though? She was also told she wasn’t allowed to eat her popcorn, is this too much food?
“Small pink container is her recess; others are lunch - frozen yogurt for Perth heat, 2 rice cake sandwiches, popcorn, and banana.”
Her photo received a mix response from fellow mums, with many agreeing that they couldn’t see anything wrong with the packed lunch.
One wrote: “There’s nothing wrong with it. I’d have a chat to the teacher to find out why.”
Agreeing a second added: “I’m mind blown to be honest. A fed kid is better than a starving kid.”
And a third added: “Go and tell the teacher if she has a problem with your child’s lunchbox she needs to speak to you directly.”
However, some were quick to offer the mum advice on how she could improve her daughter’s lunch.
One said: “The only thing I would add is some protein. My dd only has one fresh fruit and one dried. Teacher has never complained.”
Another wrote: “We were taught Popcorn wasn’t healthy, so that could be the case.”
In other lunchbox news, a mum shares the note she writes to teachers to avoid being lunchbox shamed over her son's "unhealthy food."
And this mum was shamed by her four-year-old son's teachers for giving him gherkins.
Meanwhile this mum was ‘lunchbox shamed’ by other mums for feeding her kids too much.
