These famous females are long out of their 20s, but their killer abs have got us running to the nearest gym
THESE famous females are giving us serious #strongnotskinny vibes with their ripped six-packs.
From Jennifer Lopez to Halle Berry, we take a look at how seven celebs achieved their ridiculously sculpted abs.
Gwyneth Paltrow, 47
Gwynnie has made a living by selling the dream of a healthy lifestyle with her mega wellness brand Goop, and there’s no denying that the beautiful actress puts her money where her… abs are.
But how? Her toned physique is the result of daily workouts, most of which are based on fitness-instructor-to-the-stars Tracy Anderson’s classes, which involve heating the room to 29°C before toning with small weights. Then there’s her diet, which consists of raw foods as well as seven-day cleanses.
She said “I never thought that I’d be considered to have a good body. I was bony up top and kind of dumpy on the bottom.” Right…
Davina McCall, 52
The TV star has always invested time in her toned tummy, releasing her first fitness DVD Power Of 3 in 2004. And despite having three kids (Holly, 18, Tilly, 16, and Chester, 13), her ab game has only got stronger with each b’day.
But how? You don’t get an unreal six-pack like that without putting in some effort. She’s said to work out six times a week for 60 minutes at a time and has cut out alcohol, sugar and processed foods from her diet.
She said “I want to inspire other women that you can be fit and strong at any age.”
Halle Berry, 53
It’s been 18 years since she first caught everyone’s eye as the gorge Bond girl in Die Another Day, and yet now, more than ever, we find ourselves in awe of her rig.
But how? She’s said to have been preparing for her role as a martial arts fighter in flick Bruised by training for four hours a day with MMA fighter Brian Ortega, paired with intermittent fasting.
She said “One of my goals for Bruised? Ripped abs – and today? I finally got them, and it feels unbelievable!”
Shakira, 43
Since she released epic track Hips Don’t Lie in 2005, the Colombian singer has been known for her incredible body and belly dancing. Earlier last month, she proved just how strong she still is in her 40s with that Super Bowl half-time performance.
But how? Shakira works out up to six days a week with the help of her trainer Anna Kaiser – using methods including intense dance rehearsals, HIIT, Zumba and toning sessions – before resting on Sundays. It’s reported that she eats “clean” foods little and often, while avoiding sugar and dairy.
She said “I don’t obsess over my flaws, because I see my body as a whole. Besides, I think men appreciate confidence more than perfection.”
Jennifer Lopez, 50
With every gym selfie that J.Lo posts showing off her ridiculously sculpted abs, we only grow more jel of her insane body (and entire being). If you needed any more reminding, just watch her take on a pole as a stripper in empowering movie Hustlers.
But how? Like Gwynnie, J.Lo is also a big fan of Tracy Anderson’s intense workouts. She takes on diet challenges such as no sugar, no carbs for 10 days, while having a high-protein, nutrient-dense diet the rest of the time.
She said “It’s a lot of working out. You know what, there’s no way around it. You have to go to the gym and you got to eat good if you feel like that’s where you want to be.”
Lisa Faulkner, 48
After getting married in Oxfordshire last October, Lisa jetted off on a late honeymoon to Mauritius last month with husband chef John Torode. The pair drank from coconuts, sunbathed and snapped pics of Lisa’s to-die-for washboard stomach.
But how? While the former EastEnders actress admits she hates the gym, she’s into yoga and has regularly worked out on the mat for the past two decades.
She said “I don’t want to be super-fit, I don’t want to be super-ripped, I just want to have a healthy, happy body that works really well, that [means] I can still wear a bikini.”
Phoebe Waller-Bridge, 34
The writer-director is best known for Fleabag and Killing Eve, but she’s garnered attention for her six-pack after posing on the SAG Awards red carpet last month.

But how? Though she’s known to have a healthy lifestyle, PW-B attributed her ab definition to a make-up artist, who painted it on for the night. More our style, then.
She said “With all the chaos of the outfits and the interviews and the six-pack that my make-up artist drew on me this evening… It’s quite easy to be distracted from the thing that has actually happened to us.”
