Newlyweds slated for marrying in a cemetery and using dead kids’ graves to ‘enforce the death do us part feeling’
A NEWLY married couple have been slammed after they hosted their nuptials in a grave yard, using dead children’s tomb stones for props.
Photos of the Gothic ceremony were shared on the Facebook group, by one of the groom's colleagues.
The photos see the couple dressed in all black, saying their I dos in the 100-year-old church yard surrounded by gravestones.
The tombs were decorated with an array of purple flowers, and the majority of guests were also dressed head-to-toe in black.
The one exception was one of the bride’s children who was dressed in a dinosaur costume after refusing to attend otherwise.
Captioning the snaps, the groom’s colleague wrote: “Found via a co-workers FB page. He was married in a cemetery. They used headstones of random children as props for their decorations.
“Per his wife, it ‘enforced the death do us part feeling’ she wanted and had a ‘masquerade’ theme all over.
“One of her children dressed as a T-Rex for the whole day. The decorations were dollar tree Halloween décor for the most part with all the bouquets as fake flowers or half dried flowers.
“It is bizarre and cringe-worthy to say the least.”
She later added: “The cemetery as it turns out is attached to a 100 plus year old church that closed a few years ago.
“The graves are of absolutely no relation to these people and the cemetery ranges from graves as recent as 2016, dating back to the early 1900’s.
“They have since had a baby and actually did newborn photos of that baby in the same cemetery with her swaddled on graves according to someone that knows them better than I do.
“He seems like a nice guy, but I can’t tell if they are trying too hard to be edgy or if they love the negative attention this causes.”
Fellow group members were outraged over the couple’s nuptials, sharing their thoughts in the comments.
“This must be a joke right?” said one, with another adding, “This is awful and so disrespectful.”
Agreeing another said: “My niece died almost 20 years ago when she was 5 and these 2 would be in their own grave if I found out that they used her grave and tombstone as part of their celebration.”
“Selfish disgusting trash. How dare they use headstones as decorations?!” added a fourth.
