Meghan Markle says she expects breakfast in bed on Valentine’s Day but ‘a single rose is enough’ for her gift

MEGHAN Markle once revealed her dream Valentine’s Day - and it could be an indicator of how she will spend February 14 with Prince Harry.

The Duchess of Sussex, 38, wrote a blog on her now-defunct website The Tig in 2015, which lifted the lid on how she wakes up “waiting to be kissed” and craving “breakfast in bed”.

The blog said: “Hook, line and sinker,  I am such a sucker for Valentine's Day.”

She added: “Without fail, every February 14th, I wake up feeling like I'm immersed in a Robert Doisneau photo, waiting with bated breath to be dipped into a kiss.

"This is all happening in black and white, of course.

“And in terms of gifts, be it breakfast in bed, a sweet love note, or a single flower, it really is the thought that counts.”

The mum-of-one wrote that her dream Valentine’s location was “in Paris, if I had my way” - but she may have to relinquish this particular dream this year.

Meghan and Harry, along with baby Archie, are said to be living across the pond in an £11million mansion on Vancouver Island.

The couple moved to Canada this year as they prepare to drop their HRH styles and quit the monarchy for a life of personal and financial freedom.

Despite speculation, it is unclear who owns the mansion and if the couple are paying rent.

Last Thursday, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex made their first joint engagement since leaving the royal family at a JP Morgan summit in LA

Experts believe they could have been paid up to £775,000 for attending and Harry doing a speech.

Meghan also revealed on her blog that she loves to find ways to share her affection.

The former Suits actress added: “If given the option between fingers to keyboard, or pen to paper, I will always choose the latter.

“Because amongst the throwback things that I love (a ’62 porsche speedster à la Dylan McKay in 90210, a bevy of Vargas girls, a Busby Berkeley film, or cooking over a charcoal grill), what trumps all is my love of writing (and receiving) a handwritten note.”

And food is definitely another great way to Meghan’s heart.

She wrote of a delicious meal: “Some days you have a bite of food that makes you go 'woah'. Your eyes widen, you look down at the plate, almost pushing things around with your fork to see what’s making it so special.

“You take another bite, smiling as you do so, almost laughing, because it’s just so damn good."

Prince Harry seems to share her love of food, and even proposed to Meghan over a home-cooked roast chicken in November 2017.

Last year, Prince Harry left a pregnant Meghan at home in London for their first Valentine’s Day as a married couple, and flew to the Arctic Circle for an engagement.

The Duke of Sussex visited a makeshift shelter built of snow during a visit to British forces undergoing winter survival training, and grinned as he spotted they had put up a photo of the couple’s wedding day.

Luckily Prince Harry returned in the evening and was expected to have celebrated with his wife.

We shared how Meghan Markle quit ‘toxic’ royal life ‘for baby Archie so he didn’t pick up stress and anxiety’.
