Mum shares ‘life-changing’ trick for keeping her children’s packed lunch sandwiches fresh for a whole WEEK

LET'S face it - making our little one's packed lunches every night before school has got to be our least favourite chore... and that includes doing the washing up.

That said, one savvy mum has revealed how she gets this boring task out of the way in just one evening - and her "life-changing" hack also keeps the sandwiches fresh for a whole WEEK.

Posting on the Facebook group , the woman explained: "I'm one of those mums who freeze sandwiches because I'm time poor during the week and my kids only eat boring sandwiches anyway!

"They de-frost super quick so they just come out in the morning and go straight into the lunchbox. Unless I'm working and I do lunches the night before."

The Australian mum usually just makes ham sandwiches for her kids and will occasionally use other spreads like Nutella or peanut butter which are safe to defrost.

When she's buying her weekly loaf, the mum asks the bakery to cut it lengthways so the sandwiches slot perfectly in their lunchbox.

She added: "Easier to cut the crusts off too - because we all know crusts are poison! And this way I can cut them into the perfect strips that fit into our bento boxes.

"One of my girls only eats a tiny bit of sandwich so this way there's no waste!"

What's more, the mum then uses the leftover crusts to make homemade breadcrumbs to use in meals. Seriously, someone give this woman a medal.

Unsurprisingly, the post has racked up over 1,400 "likes" from other members of the group who praised the "life-changing" hack.
