AMAZING SPACE

Crafty mum transforms old wardrobe into stunning workspace for her kids using £60 buys from Poundland and The Range

HAVE you ever stopped to consider just how much space you're wasting in your cluttered cupboards? No? Neither have we, to be honest.

However, one savvy mum is making us rethink all our storage choices after she turned her tatty old wardrobe into a stunning workspace for her children - and the best part is, it only cost her £60.

Mum-of-two Veronica Sweeney-Bird, from Tunbridge Wells, set out to make a workspace for her daughters Ziva, nine, and Tali, seven, but couldn't find the space in their room.

Instead, the 36-year-old set about decluttered a cupboard that was full of bags of old clothes and turn it into a closet office - otherwise known as a "cloffice".

Veronica - who shares her DIY creations on her - raided her local B&Q, Poundland and The Range to create the compact working space.

She told : "Both of my children had asked if they could have a desk each but unfortunately that wasn't possible in their room so I figured if I could shift things around in the wardrobe I'd be able to make something for them that could be hidden away when not used and that wouldn't take up precious floor space."

After looking at Pinterest for inspiration, Veronica bought a chipboard from B&Q which you'd normally use to build a wardrobe for the back of the "cloffice".

She explained: "I bought three shelf brackets, and the ones I chose are aesthetically pleasing, but you can get less expensive ones.
“I then painted the space with white paint I already had and found a sample pot of grey Valspar paint for 50p in the bargain basket."

Finishing off with some trendy furnishing, Veronica then added Poundland pegboards and accessories as well as two contrasting stools from The Range.

She added: "I customised some storage boxes from Poundland with Fablon I had left over from a different project and they had the rest of the accessories in their room already.

In total, Veronica spent £60 revamping her wardrobes - and needless to say, her daughters love it.

Tom Church, co-founder of , added: "Anyone who works from home will dream of an office that functions when they need it but that is tucked far away from sight, removing all the stress associated with work, when they don’t.

"Veronica’s genius closet office is an ideal workspace and I’m really impressed that it cost just £60 to make. Her girls are very lucky!"
