Mum reveals she baths her three-year-old in Dettol and completely divides opinion

A MUM has split opinion after admitting she bathes her three-year-old daughter in Dettol.

Taking to Netmums, the anonymous woman said she regularly takes a bath in the disinfectant as she “loves the smell” and has now introduced her daughter to them.

says that it is perfectly safe to bathe in the disinfectant as long as it is diluted.

Dr Louw, pathologist at the National Health Laboratory Service (NHLS) is quoted on the brand’s website encouraging its use when washing.

She said: “Using a Disinfectant Liquid as part of your daily hygiene routine is important.

“When skin is clean and moisturised, it improves overall hygiene”.

The brand added: “Dettol Disinfectant Liquid has added Aloe Vera, which is gentle on skin and kills 100 illness causing germs when diluted in bath water.”
