Groom demands fiancée ditches her twin sister from their wedding in case people think she’s the bride
A MAN has demanded his fiancée ditch her twin sister from the wedding party as he’s worried people will confuse her for the bride.
The 29-year-old claimed he was close to calling off the wedding after his fiance refused to fire her sister from the bridal party.
The bloke explained they were due to tie the knot in two months, after dating for five years, and his wife-to-be’s twin was named as the maid of honour at the last minute.
But as his fiancée, 28, decided all the ladies in her bridal party would wear long white dresses, he suddenly realised his bride’s twin would be mistaken for the bride.
He called the colour choice a “horrific decision”, and demanded she either change the colour or fire her sister - which she refused.
The husband-to-be posted his rant on Reddit, where he said: “I’m worried as my wife and her twin are identical people will be confused all day who the bride is!
“We have over 400 guests and a lot of people will be thinking [fiancée] is the bride.”
Unsurprisingly, his fiancée wasn’t phased by it, telling him she “absolutely won’t change the bridesmaids' dresses”.
He continued: “So I suggested asking [twin] to step down (bridesmaid or MOH honestly don’t understand the difference) so she could wear a different colour to avoid confusion.
“[Fiancée] was literally disgusted by this idea and shot it down immediately.”
But he refused to drop the subject, and instead offered up his own sister to be the maid of honour, which also went down like a lead balloon.
He continued: “I’m just not comfortable with the entire thing, the bridesmaids being in white makes me feel like its some crazy multi-wife wedding and I’m marrying them all, including her twin!
“I put my foot down and refused to do it all her way but it’s an unstoppable force against an unmoving object.”
He added that he was “sticking by his decision”, but his opinion hasn’t gone down well online.
His post was shared to Facebook group , where its racked up dozens of comments.

“It’s not super common, but still many people DO choose white for bridesmaids.
“Groom needs to stay in his lane.”
Someone else wrote: “Okay first, who does this guy think he is thinking he has a say over the MOH and the bridesmaids?”
A third wrote: “Those dresses don’t even look remotely alike, besides being the same colour.”
And this person agreed, saying: “How would people mistake the dresses.”
