FRIENDS fans have been pointing out a cute detail about Ross Geller 22 years after an episode aired.
The sweet moment took place in season four, episode 12, which was called The One with the Embryos.
The episode - which first aired in 1998 - saw Monica and Rachel compete against Chandler and Joey in a quiz to determine who knows the other team better.
Phoebe, played by Lisa Kudrow, had just agreed to be a surrogate for her brother and his wife, and Ross had written the quiz.
Questions included “What is Monica's biggest pet peeve?” and “What is the name of Chandler's father's Las Vegas all-male burlesque show?"
Posting on , a fan who rewatched the episode had a heartwarming theory that it is actually Ross, played by David Schwimmer, who knows everyone best.
The fan wrote: “Really cute detail I just noticed on a re-watch.
"It's the episode where the guys and girls compete in a quiz to see who knows each other better.
"The subtle wholesome is that Ross wrote all the questions, which means he actually knows both of the groups best out of anyone."
Many people loved the sweet detail, particularly as Ross is often labelled by fans as the least favourite of the gang.
One Reddit user commented: “I said this sometime before and people still hate on him. Ross is the largest and bestest friend."
Another added: “Ross haters shaking rn.”
And one pointed out: “Its kind of understandable though. Monica is his sister, he's known Chandler for many years and he dated Rachel and has been in love with her for ever. I don't know about Joey though.”
In the episode, the boys end up winning the quiz, after Rachel wrongly answers that Chandler is a "transpondster".
The show’s co-creator Marta Kauffman, once admitted that The One with the Embryos is her favourite of the whole series.
She told that the “iconic” episode “really says it all” for her.
Martha explained: “It had heart, it was funny, it was emotional. That, for me, is one of the iconic episodes.”
