The mum-of-one posted a series of stories on , sharing her method with her three million followers.

She advises fans to invest in a moppet sponge, on sale for £2 for a pack of two in Sainsbury’s, which are perfect for the job.

Mrs Hinch gives the sponge a few sprays on Flash’s bathroom cleaner, which she uses in the kitchen as well because it “smells amazing”.

She wipes the gap in between the machine and the plastic seal with the sponge, revealing a layer of soap scum which has built up.

And while you’re at it, the Essex native also recommends giving the inner seal a good scrub as well - revealing that is also filled with muck.

She says: “So this one is completely clean, I’ve also done this in here as well.

“Sometimes it can get forgotten, but it builds up in there as well. Yeah. Rank.”

After giving both seals a good wipe down, the next step is to get a cap of cleaning crystals and a cup of white vinegar – which Sainsbury’s sells for 55p – and toss them into the drum.

Mrs Hinch advises to put all the cleaning tools you’ve been using in for a spin as well.

The mum said: “You’ll then you just run this on a quick cycle, but put in the tea towels, sponges, cloths whatever you’ve used to clean your washing machine.

“Chuck them in as well. And just let it do its thing."

She chucks her own dirty sponge into the machine and says “yuck”.

And the finishing touch is to give the outside of a machine a wipe while the cycle is on.

She wrote: “Last but not least give the front of the machine a wipe down with diluted Zoflora.”
