The design is a replica of the ring Big buys for Carrie Bradshaw in the Sex and the City 2, which was a five-carat black diamond ring made by designer Itay Malkin.

Inspired by the movie, the woman revealed she’d always dreamed of owning a ring with a black stone, and it's so precious to her she only wears it for special occasions.

She uploaded a snap of her ring to Facebook group , saying: “I’m not the best photo taker.

“But here’s my engagement ring!

A third wrote: “It looks like a tick.”

Agreeing, this person wrote: “Pretty sure the setting would snap off in even the gentlest of breezes.”
