Mum tricks her man into thinking she’s pregnant with a baby girl in epic Elf On The Shelf prank
A MUM pranked her partner into thinking she was pregnant by decorating their lounge with "It's a girl" signs - only to reveal it was for a new Elf on the Shelf toy.
Stacey White, from Hampshire, set up the extravagant balloons and banners on Monday to celebrate the 'baby' Elf toy and saw the chance to give her partner a fright.
When Stacey spotted poor Mikey Davis’ terrified expression as he returned home from work, the mum decided to take advantage of his misunderstanding.
She told him they were expecting a third child, to add to their kids Rosie Hall, seven, and Daisy-Lea Davis, four.
It was only when tattoo artist Mikey started "sweating" and went "very white" that the 29-year-old mum revealed the new baby was an elf-sized doll.
Luckily Mikey, 26, saw the funny side and Stacey claims the couple were able to laugh about the misunderstanding the next day.
Stacey said: "He was very shocked. He was sweating and he went very white. I thought he was going to faint.
"My kids kept saying to me, 'do the elves have children?'. So I got this plan in my head that I was going to buy a baby elf, make a little show that they have had a baby.
"I put the banners and the balloons up and I went upstairs.
"I had no idea that he was walking into it. I didn't plan any of it, it was literally by pure coincidence that he walked through the door as I set it up.”
Stacey joked that Mikey’s reaction was less than excited.
She said: "He walked into the kitchen and didn't even speak to me, so I followed him into the kitchen and played along with it, bless him.
"He thought I was pregnant for about five minutes. I could see it in his face though that if I did it for any longer then he was going to pass out.
"I pulled down the elf and said, 'Surprise, you're having a baby elf'. He had no words coming out of his mouth.
"He kept stuttering. He said, 'are we having a baby or not?' I said, 'No, it's just the elf'. He [turned] pure white, sweating and he just couldn't talk.
"I felt a bit guilty because I know I would have gotten his hopes up, but we have the best relationship.”
Photos show the two elves, named Snowflake and Star, sitting in the middle of the pink balloons and banners with their new baby Snowball in their lap.
Stacey claims her daughters Rosie and Daisy-Lea were "over the moon" with the baby addition to the little elf family.
Mikey is now able to find the prank funny, but the couple say they do not have plans to add to their family any time soon.
Stacey, who works as a receptionist, said: "We have no plans for any more children at the moment. We've got two children and they're quite hard work as it is.
"They do dance so we are completely committed to doing that at the moment. We definitely haven't got any more children planned for the future yet, but never say never.”
The mum said the family has done Elf on the Shelf every single night of the month and added: “Roll on December 25 when I don't have to do it anymore.”
