Mum shares pic of dead Elf On The Shelf made from chicken bones and others praise the ‘hilarious’ prank

A MUM has played a cruel prank on her kids by pretending a pile of chicken bones is a dead Elf on the Shelf.

She fashioned the bones into the shape of an elf on her plate – and added one of their signature hats on top to make it look real.

The snap went viral after it was shared to Facebook group by a fan, where fellow parents have dubbed the dark prank ‘hilarious’.

More than 2,000 people have liked the snap, with some claiming they’re going to recreate it after a roast.

Others reckon it's a brilliant way to say goodbye to the elves after Christmas is over.

Commenting online, one said: “Poor Elf! Don’t let the kids see that!”
