Fans claim Katy Perry’s £4m engagement ring from Orlando Bloom looks like the one he gave Miranda Kerr

FANS have slammed Katy Perry's ruby and diamond engagement ring as the 'ugly and cheaper stepsister' version of Miranda Kerr's, both gifted by Orlando Bloom.

Facebook users in a wedding-ring shaming group noted the similarities between the two designs and were quick to bash Orlando's style.

On Valentine's Day this year Orlando Bloom got down on one knee to ask his girlfriend of three years to be his wife.

The Lord of The Rings actor presented Katy with a stunning ruby and diamond flower ring that is estimated to have set him back a whopping £4 million. 

However despite the pop star clearly being thrilled by the unique ring - with the loved-up couple planning to say their I dos by the end of this year - some Facebook  users were not so keen on the design.

Taking to a ring shaming group on the social network, group members not only noted the similarity of Katy's ring with that of Orlando's ex wife Miranda Kerr, they also slammed them for being "vile."

And others agreed, blasting the design of both bands as "ugly" and 'cheap-looking.'

While another found humour in the apparent blunder of choosing the similar styles, writing: "Lmao I can't believe he gave two girls the exact same ring but in different colours."

Continuing to bash the aesthetics of the ring, one joked that she had "got Katy's ring out of a cereal box."

With another agreeing: "It looks like a gum ball machine ring."

One group member went so far as to say: "It looks like a flower ring a little girl would want from a quarter machine at Walmart."

And continuing with the theme of  Katy's whopping £4m ring looking like "play jewellery" as one put it, another joked: "I think my niece has some better plastic ones sitting in her jewellery box."
