Kate and William’s kids dominate their top Instagram posts of 2019 – and Meghan and Harry make an appearance too
THE DUKE and Duchess of Cambridge have had a busy year of royal engagements - but it's their children who have proved most popular on their Instagram feed.
Prince William, 37, and Kate Middleton, 37, have run the @kensingtonroyal account since Prince Harry, 35, and Meghan Markle, 38, decided to create @sussexroyal in April.
However, it's the former couple who still command the most followers, with 10.4m royal fans, compared to the Sussexs' still-impressive 9.9m.
While Kate and William have worked hard to raise awareness of good causes on social media - including most recently a new TV show with Mary Berry showing them supporting homeless charity The Passage - it's their three kids who have proved the biggest hit.
Their 'best nine' of 2019 - or their nine posts which received most 'likes' throughout the year - is dominated by Prince George, six, Princess Charlotte, four, and Prince Louis, one.
The most popular - with 2.2m 'likes' - is a photo of George with Charlotte, in uniform, on their first day of school in September.
In second place, garnering 2.1m 'likes', sees a laughing George lying down on the grass on his birthday in July, wearing an England football t-shirt.
Next up, a photo of Charlotte shaking the hand of a teacher on her first day at Thomas's Battersea, flanked by her parents and brother.
Making his first appearance, in fourth place, is a snap of Louis on his first birthday in April - which gained 1.5m 'likes'.
The next most 'liked' - at 1.2m - is the official portrait from Harry and Meghan's son Archie's christening, which also stars Kate and William.
Once more, Charlotte's first day of school made the top nine in sixth place, with 1.2m 'likes'.
A picture to mark her birthday in May also received 1.2m 'likes'.
Another repeat, coming in at eighth, was a second portrait taken to celebrate Louis turning one.
The ninth most popular post - receiving 1.1m 'likes' - was a picture of the Cambridges' youngest child running at the camera as he played in a garden designed by his mum at the Chelsea Flower Show in May.
Also in shot, are his dad and siblings.
