Princess Charlotte’s new ‘obsession’ is horses like the Queen… and she’s ‘asked for a pony for Christmas’
PRINCESS Charlotte is said to have taken after her great granny in becoming “obsessed with horses”.
The young royal, four, is even said to have asked for a pony for Christmas - however Prince William is against the idea, according to a source.
A royal source told Closer: “Charlotte takes after Queen Elizabeth and is obsessed with horses.
“She’s asked for a pony, but might have to wait until next year because William thinks she’s too young.”
The insider added that her older brother Prince George, six, has asked for presents themed on his new favourite sport; tennis.
They claimed: “George is really into tennis and has asked for a new racket and a football table.
“They’ll both be receiving children’s cookery sets because they love making a mess in the kitchen!”
Kate revealed last year that the young tots got up “very early” on Christmas Day to open their presents, which broke royal tradition.
Typically the royals open gifts on Christmas Eve, which is linked to their German heritage.
reports that Prince Harry once took the gag gift rule to the extreme with a very rude present for the Queen.
The Queen is extremely passionate about horses and received a Shetland pony called Peggy when she was four.
By the age of six, the future monarch was riding and she has been pictured on her horses this year, at the age of 93.
