Thrifty mum makes a Christmas wreath out of loo rolls – and it only cost £1.29
A MUM has shunned expensive shop bought decorations to make her own this year – out of toilet roll tubes.
The thrifty mum decided to make a festive wreath using the cardboard tubes, and she achieved it for just £1.29.
Sharing a snap of her creation to Facebook group to , her design was hailed as “ingenious”.
She carefully cut up kitchen and toilet roll tubes and arranged them in to star shapes, and then glued those on top of each to create a wreath effect.
She finished off the look by adding a gold ribbon to hang it
up, spray painted it green and added some berries as the finishing touch.
Posting about her design online, she said: “A little money saving idea for a pretty wreath for indoor use.
“I made this for a cost of £1.29 for the paint (green acrylic paint from home bargains).
“It’s cut up kitchen roll and loo roll tubes painted and glued together.
“As for the berries I pulled them from an old piece of garland but they can be made with playdoh or similar.”
Her budget-friendly wreath has been praised online, with hundreds of people liking her post.
