Mum terrified after seeing ‘ghost’ watching over her baby on security camera… but doesn’t realise it’s actually her

A MUM has revealed how her “heart dropped” when she saw a stranger sat with her baby on the family’s security camera.

Mum-of-four Leila, from the US, revealed her horror when she realised there was a woman watching over her children and raced downstairs to confront the stranger.

The mum had been doing her hair and make-up while her kids – aged 11, three, two and four months – were downstairs watching TV.

As she was getting ready, she kept a close eye on the security camera, which she had up on the iPad on her dressing table.

But when she looked down at the screen, she saw a strange woman sat with her baby.

Horrified, she raced down the stairs – but no-one was there.

“It literally felt like someone disappeared before my eyes because I JUST saw them there,” she told .

Leila raced back into the bedroom to view the footage, ringing her mum in the process.

To her horror, the woman was still sat in the living room – but just seconds later, Leila realised she recognised the stranger.

“I went to focus my camera on my phone on the iPad screen to show my mum and that’s when I realised what had happened,” she said.

“It was me. I was the ghost on the couch.”

She said her priority was making sure her babies were safe

Explaining she was laughing and crying at the same time, she realised the camera must have started playing a clip from earlier in the day, instead of live streaming as it was supposed to.

Some people have asked how she didn’t manage to recognise it was actually her, but the mum explained due to the fact the camera was supposed to be live streaming – and the fact her platinum blonde hair appeared brown on screen – she had no idea.

Leila said her first instinct was to make sure her babies were safe – not trying to work out who the person was.
