The Queen insists on round ice cubes instead of square ones so they don’t clink too loudly on the glass

Author Karen Dolby, who wrote , told Fabulous Digital: “The Queen likes her ice cubes in her glass to be round so they don’t chink quite as much as square ones.”

The author said that the monarch has all drinks served with her preferred ice cubes in her homes.

It has also been claimed that the Queen’s hate the noise square ice cubes make so strongly that Prince Philip invented a machine that makes tiny ice balls.

The Queen’s favourite drink of choice is a gin and Dubbonet, according to her former chef Darren McGrady.

According to Darren, who became a personal chef to the Queen and later Diana, Queen Elizabeth II “is not a foodie”.

While she regularly enjoys lavish banquets during her numerous social events, at home she is a diner of simple tastes and selects her dishes on a daily menu, crossing out the option she doesn’t want.
