Aldi releases three new festive scents in its Yankee Candle-inspired range & shoppers are snapping them up for Christmas
ALDI has released three new festive scents in the run-up to Christmas – and shoppers think they smell just like Yankee Candles.
The supermarket unveiled the trio of new fragrances, including Black Forest Gateau, Salted Caramel and Happy Holidays.
Each candle, which comes in a large jar, costs £3.99 – a fraction of the price of rival Yankee Candle.
But shoppers have claimed the candle brands smell nearly identical, comparing Aldi’s Black Forest Gateau to Yankee’s Black Cherry version.
Aldi's range, part of the Scentcerity collection, burns for 130 hours and shoppers can buy all three in a gift set for £11.97.
They said: “Bring the smell of Christmas cheer into your home or delight someone special with supermarket Aldi’s range of festive jar candles and gift sets.”
Shoppers have been going wild for the new range online, with hundreds of people liking a post about the candles on .
Sharing a snap of the new fragrances, one shopper said: “£3.99 each in Aldi! Smells amazing.”
Someone else wrote: “I have the salted caramel and it smells my whole house out love it.”
A third said: “I have the happy holidays one smells lush.”
Plus this person thought: “Christmas presents for me. I love candles.”
And the candles have got the seal of approval from Yankee fans, with someone commenting: “Black forest smells exactly like black cherry Yankee candle.”
Agreeing, this person said: “Black forest one smells like black cherry apparently!”
The candles are so popular they’ve sold out online, so you’ll need to head to your nearest store to get your hands on one.
