Mrs Hinch fan uses 59p Home Bargains squeegee to get hair out of her carpet and is horrified by how much she gets up
FIND it annoying when strands of hair get stuck in your carpet and your vacuum cleaner can’t pick them up?
A mum has raved about Mrs Hinch’s hack of using a window cleaning squeegee to transform her floors and leave them looking brand new.
The cleaning fan revealed on the Facebook group how the 59p tool from Home Bargains removed all of the hair from her daughter’s dirty carpet.
She wrote how she was “shocked” at the amount of long hair that had built up in the carpet.
After using the window cleaning item, the mum revealed an “after” shot of the hairball she had managed to remove.
Cleaning fans were quick to comment on the home hack and say they were keen to try it out on their own carpets.
The mum wrote: “You lovely Hinchers have done it again. I have a lovely silver grey carpet which lately has become a bit dull and I’m always hoovering but it had lost its lovely look.
“I saw the post about trapped hair and how hoovering doesn’t get it out. So I bought a squeegee for 59p and gave it a go.
“This is my daughter's bedroom carpet. She has very long hair. I was totally shocked at how much came up and a bit disgusted to be honest! My carpet now looks brand new again! If you haven’t tried it yet do it!”
The Facebook group is inspired by cleaning guru Mrs Hinch, aka Sophie Hinchliffe, who has built up nearly three million Instagram followers with her home tips.
Fans regularly post their own cleaning hacks, and numerous social media users raved about the window cleaning squeegee advice.
One said: “I do this every week now. Amazing how much hair and dust comes up. Only thing is my squeegee doesn't last long.”
Another added: “I do my stairs often and the amount that comes off is crazy!”
Meanwhile, one wrote: “Where did you get the squeegee? I want to do this.”
Other people added their own advice for cleaning carpets, including using a rubber brush from Home Bargains, an elastic band and even rubber sliders for the job.
