And while most were touched by the moment, with several
choosing to film it, one journalist decided to shame the groom-to-be for being “broke.”

 Taking to Twitter,
the woman named Anele wrote: “SA men are so broke they even propose at KFC.

“They have absolutely no class, I mean who proposes at KFC.”

Anele has since deleted the offending tweet after she
provoked angry responses from fellow Twitter users and has since switched her
account to private.

The couple has since been revealed as Hector Mkansi and Nonhlanhla Soldaat

The backlash caught the attention of KFC, and the brand has
since tweeted asking for help finding the couple.

In a tweet the brand wrote: “Mzansi please help us find this
beautiful couple, re batla ho ba blesser (we want to be blessers).

“DM us any leads, there might be a Finger Lickin' Good
surprise in it for you too. Batho ba Vaal re thuseng (Vaal people help us)! We
love love.”

The couple has since been revealed as Hector Mkansi and
Nonhlanhla Soldaat.

And it wasn’t just KFC who were keen to have an input on the
couple’s big day with several other brands coming forward to offer their
services.

Puma offered over £500 worth of clothes, Audi offered a car
to get them to their honeymoon while Huawei offered the pair new phones to
capture memories on.

Other gifts came in the form of diamond rings, a new kitchen
and even having their debts cleared.

KFC later tweeted once more: “A bucket full of love for
Mzansi’s favourite couple 😍 in true SA style,
umuntu ngumuntu ngabantu (man is man by man), thank you to each and every one
of you South’ A.

“Our bucket overflows with love.”

In other proposal news, a bride showing off her engagement ring has been rinsed for her "unhygienic talon" nails.

Plus this brother of a bride was slammed for staging an elaborate proposal in the middle of his sister's wedding day.

And this jewellery shop's engagement ring display leaves people giggling as it looks just like a willy.
