A MUM has revealed how she saved her son’s muddy coat with
the help of £1 elbow grease.
Taking to the Facebook group Mrs Hinch Made Me Do It, the mum revealed how his brilliant white jacket had become a dirty shade of brown.
She shared snaps of the filthy coat with fellow Hinchers,
begging them for advice on how to get it clean again.
Captioning the snaps she wrote: “So my son returned home
like this after school. I’ve scrubbed I’ve even added a bit of bleach and let
it soak in the bath, the lot and it’s still left looking light brown.
“Any tips on how I can get it back to white please.”
Fellow mums were quick to come forward with their advice,
with many suggesting that she avoid white when it comes to children’s clothes.
However, many were quick to recommend the £1 Elbow Grease
spray, loved by Mrs Hinch and her fans.
One wrote: “Sound stupid but have you tried spraying with
elbow grease and putting in the machine.”
Agreeing a second added: “Elbow grease !!! Works so well on
stains, haven’t found anything that it hasn’t got out get... also fab on
trainers.”
“I would try soaking in elbow grease for a few hours then
wash through” said a third.
Following the advice the mum later added: “Currently
scrubbing with elbow grease as suggested then will be trying the others, thankfully
we have a spare one.”
And the tip was a success as she later updated the post with the sparkling white results after using the £1 spray.
Explaining her method she wrote: "I washed as much mud off it as I could in the bath, then scrubbed it down with bleach then left it to soak till my wash load was finished in Elbow Grease.
"I then popped it inside the machine and it came up brand new. I sprayed quite a lot of Elbow Grease on it, just wouldn't recommend drying on a radiator if you've used Elbow Grease as it can turn items yellow.
She joked: “Back to brand new! White coat for sale if anyone is interested”
In other cleaning news, this woman saves herself re-tiling her bathroom just by using cotton wool and bleach on mouldy grout.
Plus cleaning fans are debating the 'correct' way to vacuum - and not everyone agrees.
Meanwhile this cleaning fan had a cake made of Mrs Hinch's favourite products including Zoflora.
