The most popular date for your other half to propose is the weekend BEFORE Christmas, research reveals
WE ALL hope to receive something special from our partner come Christmas day – but if you’re hoping for an “I Do” your surprise could come a little early.
New predictions show that the most popular day for your other half to propose over the festive period is actually the weekend before Christmas, the reports.
Wedding planning app found that the weekend of December 21 and 22 is when most are expected to pop the question.
Founder Hamish Shephard explains: “With Christmas falling midweek this year, we can expect the weekend of December 21 and 22 to be the most popular weekend for proposals of all of 2019 - a mighty 10 per cent of all proposals for the year.”
Bridebook, which is used by 2/3 of UK engaged couples, analysed the patterns emerging from users to come up with the prediction.
The company found that a grand total of 100,000 engagements will take place over December with 40 per cent expected to get down on one knee between Christmas Day and Valentines.
Shepherd adds: “Proposing over the holiday period means celebrating with all the family during such a feel good time. It’s the most wonderful time of the year!”
