PRINCE Charles has been branded a "decent fella" and a "legend" by royal fans watching the latest instalment of an ITV documentary about his work.
The future king, 70, revealed he was "reduced to tears" when shown a clip of Prince William paying tribute to his achievements during his fifty years at the helm of the Duchy of Cornwall.
In tonight's episode of Prince Charles: Inside the Duchy of Cornwall - which offers a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the £1bn business spread across 30,000 acres in 23 counties - the first-in-line to the throne becomes emotional when watching William pay tribute to his work.
Charles was shown a clip of the Duke of Cambridge, 37, talking about the importance of family to farmer Mervyn Keeling.
His eldest son - who is gradually taking over his role - said: "I’ve started to think about how I will inherit the Duchy one day and what I do with it.
"I think it’s really important, about the family angle, I really do."
Charles - who is celebrating 50 years of working on the Duchy - said of how moved he was by William's words.
The Prince of Wales explained: “When I saw it, I couldn't believe it, I was deeply touched and moved by what he said.
“It practically reduced me to tears. Because I suddenly thought, well, just hearing that from him, has made the last 50 years worthwhile.”
He added: “Confronting your own mortality is a very good thing for you, if I may say so, it’s quite good for the soul.”
Those watching at home took to Twitter to praise the future king for his dedication to the Duchy.
One person wrote: "I have so much admiration for Prince Charles after watching this program. ."
