Wedding shamers horrified by £30 reversible engagement ring that ‘looks like a bottle opener’

WHILE versatile jewellery has its perks, people have been left horrified by a £30 reversible engagement ring.

The piece - which can be flipped to show either a blue or red jewel - has been likened to a "bottle opener" by wedding shamers.

Posting in the group That's It, I'm Ring Shaming, a shop assistant called Claire revealed that she had only sold one in an entire year.

Captioning a series of snaps of the ring, she wrote: "Yes this is one ring. I’ve only sold one since working here a full year.

"For everyone confused as to why 'it opens like that' it’s reversible.

"The blue is one side of the ring, red is the other side."

Claire added that the ring sells for $38.50 - or approximately £30.

However, despite its relatively affordable price, members of the group were certainly not sold.

More than 300 people left 'likes' while many of the 250 comments slammed the ring.

One person wrote: "Cheap and ugly!"

Another commented: "It's horrific! Not surprised only one has been sold."

A third shared: "Reminds me of a tin opener..still if you are happy."

And a fourth added: "What's with all the hate? This is a very stylish bottle opener."

However, others weren't so offended by the ring - and even admitted they were interested in treating themselves to one.

One person noted: "Kind of cool actually."

Another joked: "It’s awful but I want one please tell me how to get one."
