Man gets down on one knee to propose to his girlfriend – and accidentally trips up a little girl

THIS bloke thought he had planned the perfect proposal – until he accidentally tripped a little girl while getting down on one knee.

Ben Gilbert, 20, proposed to girlfriend Ali Myers, 19, in front of a Halloween pumpkin display at the Dallas Arobretum, in Texas, USA.

But the unforgettable moment went awry when a child with her arms full of pumpkins took a tumble over Ben’s outstretched leg.

The couple giggled but checked the little girl wasn’t hurt before Ali agreed to tie the knot.

Ben’s best mate Tanner Johnson, who filmed the proposal, said: “Fortunately, the little girl was OK, she was just embarrassed.

“The mum actually got onto her for ‘ruining the moment’ once she realised what was happening.

“It was a last-minute plan, as Ben got the ring back in August but has held on to it until now. He wanted to wait until she wasn’t expecting it.”

The couple started dating in January, after meeting on Twitter – and Tanner is now dating Ali’s best friend.

Ben popped the question while the couple were pumpkin shopping on Monday.

Ali clasped her hands over her mouth in shock when Ben got down on one knee, but he unknowingly put his left leg straight into the girl’s path.

She toppled onto the floor, dropping her pumpkins, causing Ben to put his hands over his mouth in disbelief.

A concerned Ben asks if the girl, who quickly scoops up her pumpkins, is OK – before she apologises off camera through fits of giggles.

The couple can then get back to the proposal, with Ali’s “yes” and hug getting cheers from spectators, with one shouting “that’s awesome”.
