A photo of the bride, wearing the unusual choice of bridal footwear, was taken by an onlooker as she prepared to cross a road following the service with the groom and a wedding photographer.

The image was then shared to group 'That's It, I'm Wedding Shaming' by a woman called Megan who revealed that the nuptials had taken place near the Niagara Falls in Canada.

She explained: "I don't think she had another pair of shoes.

Couldn't she have at least chosen a less obvious colour?

"I looked to see if she was holding heels or if anyone else around them was. None in sight."

Her post quickly garnered a passionate response from members who couldn't understand the reasoning behind her bizarre footwear.

One person wrote: "Disgusting."

Another commented: "'My dress should be able to cover my Crocs' lmaooo."

A third shared: "They're her something blue."

How much should you spend on an engagement ring?

  • Traditionally, it is expected that around two and a half months’ salary will be spent on the engagement ring – but for many people out there, clinging to this belief can prove to be the first hurdle.
  • According to , that two month rule that has people sweating was actually coined by a De Beers diamond marketer and is best forgotten about.
  • In reality, it is best to consider your partner's expectations and balance them against your actual financial situation, as purchasing that "dream ring" should not plunge you into unimaginable debt.

Others pointed out that the bright colour choice made them hard to blend in with her dress.

One person asked: "Couldn't she have at least chosen a less obvious colour??"

Another pointed out: "She couldn't at least have gotten white Crocs?"

However, several were slightly more sympathetic.

One woman noted: "TBH I hate Crocs but I def wouldn't be wearing my wedding shoes to walk all over town."

Another suggested: "Maybe she forgot to pack her shoes?"
