KATE Middleton and Meghan Markle have been applauded by fans for their involvement in a new mental health awareness advert.

The Duchesses of Cambridge and Sussex were joined by their husbands Princes William and Harry for the NHS campaign Every Mind Matters.

Brits first saw the three-minute video - in which the four royals act as narrators and tell viewers how to beat bad sleep, stress and low mood - this evening, when it was broadcast at 8.45pm on ITV, Channel 4, Five and Sky.

Those watching at home rushed to Twitter to praise them for their part in the advert.

One person wrote: "The new Every Mind Matters advert speaks powerfully and it's great to hear Kate, Wills, Harry & Meghan getting involved too."

Another commented: "#everymindmatters tv advert is powerful & brilliant #NHS voiced by HRH William HRH Kate HRH Harry HRH Meghan."

A third shared: "Simple and practical, powerful, positive and optimistic - about time! Meghan Markle, Prince Harry, Kate Middleton and Prince William voice new mental health television advert."

And a fourth simply added: "I love them."

It comes as it was revealed that William, Kate, Harry and Meghan are believed to be the first ever senior royals to participate in an advert.

Each recorded their voice-overs on different days due to diary clashes, according to sources.

Eleven million people were expected to see the video when it aired this evening.

It also features stars including Davina McCall, Katie Piper, Joe Sugg, Freddie Flintoff, Glenn Close, Gillian Anderson, Proferssor Green and Nadiya Hussain.

In the advert, William, 37, begins by saying: “Everyone knows that feeling, when life gets on top of us.

“All over the country, millions of us face challenges to our mental health at all ages, at all intensities, and for all sorts of reasons.”

Harry, 35, then takes over before Meghan, 38, and Kate, 37, say lines.

The short film was written by Richard Curtis and directed by celebrity photographer Rankin.

In other royal news, we told you that Meghan Markle took Baby Archie lots of toys on the royal tour so he didn’t miss his "home comforts".

We also revealed all of the Duchess of Sussex's best repeated outfits - including a £1,315 Stella McCartney dress.

And Princess Beatrice "will invite fiance Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi’s ex-girlfriend to the wedding".
