‘Attention-seeking’ stepmother accused of trying to upstage bride by wearing WHITE to wedding and blocking the aisle
SERIOUSLY, how many times do we have to say it? If you're in doubt, just DON'T wear anything that could be passed off as white to your pal's wedding.
But while we've all heard the story of the shameless friend who tried to pass an ivory, lace gown off as appropriate wedding guest attire, a nightmare stepmother is now being shamed online after she tried to upstage the bride in a full-length white dress.
Posting pictures of the woman's inappropriate outfit on the Facebook group That's It, I'm Wedding Shaming, users were quick to shame the stepmum for both her controversial outfit and "attention-seeking" behaviour.
The picture of the anonymous woman shows her blocking the aisle as the couple exchange their vows in a floor-length white sleeveless gown and matching ivory shoes.
Although the bride and groom are happily distracted by the ceremony, other members of the group ripped the stepmum's outfit apart and blasted her for trying to draw attention away from their special moment.
One replied: "Aside from the attention seeking outfit, standing in the aisle during the ceremony is outright rude."
Questioning whether she was trying to get a photo of the couple exchanging rings, another added: "If they paid for a photographer then she has absolutely no reason to stand there."
A third joked: "Did she stand in the middle of the first dance?"
Describing how they would have reacted in that scenario, another wrote: "Someone should have poured red wine on her dress.
"Oops my bad. You don't wear white to someone else's wedding. It's tacky. Do people not understand etiquette?
Jumping to her defence, one wrote: "Is it just me or is anyone else seeing a light lavender or grey?
"Look at her bag and the shoes, those are white - but the dress isn't..."
Taking the words right out of our mouths, another user replied: "If you have to question it, it's too white." Couldn't have said it better ourselves.
