Wedding shamers slam newlyweds for updating their Facebook profiles DURING their marriage ceremony
A COUPLE have been branded “tacky” after logging on to Facebook while still at the altar to update their statuses to ‘married’.
The bride and groom have been mocked as being “peak millennials”, after a snap of the newlyweds engrossed on their phones was shared online.
Just after exchanging their vows and saying ‘I do’, the new husband and wife whipped out their phones and logged into social media.
A snap of the couple, stood next to the officiant in front of all their guests, has gone viral after it was shared to Facebook group .
A guest captioned the image: “Instead of doing a unity candle or sand ceremony, Danielle & James changed their Facebook statuses to ‘married’.”
The post has racked up more than 600 comments, with their unusual celebration branded “ridiculous”, with others calling the couple 'obsessed'.
One person said: “This is what the world has come to?! I'm giving up on society.”
Another wrote: “This is peak millennial.”
A third said: “Wow this is tacky as hell.”
Another wrote: "Imagine being so obsessed with social media that you think this is a great idea."
