Don’t Tell The Bride wedding is CANCELLED after the couple were caught cheating by secretly communicating
FOR THE first time in the show’s history, a Don’t Tell The Bride wedding has been cancelled after the couple were caught cheating.
Yanis and Shanise, from Birmingham, were left “heartbroken” when producers of the E4 series called off their upcoming nuptials after finding them secretly communicating.
Sunday’s episode of the programme – which leaves the groom solely in charge of planning the big day – saw the pair devastated by the news.
They were rumbled when Shanise’s friend revealed she knew they were set to walk down the aisle in Paris.
This made producers suspicious, and they discovered the future bride had gone through her fiancé’s emails to find out information about the wedding.
They were then forced to tell the groom the wedding wasn’t going ahead.
Yanis was in the process of planning to wed Shanise in front of 13 guests in the French capital.
The newlyweds – and their small group of guests – would then fly back to Birmingham for the reception.
After initially deciding that Shanise’s ten-year-old brother Chris wasn’t a priority for this initial stage of the day, and would only attend the reception, Yanis had a sudden change of heart.
He was filmed on his laptop making the announcement – first prompting producers to investigate.
Due to this tweak in the plan, bridesmaid Melissa was informed over the phone that she wouldn’t be attending the ceremony as her flight could no longer be covered in the budget.
While the bridal party knew that they would be travelling abroad, they weren’t meant to know where to.
Shanise asked: “He’s had £13,000 where’s the money gone? Can’t people pay for their own flights?”
Melissa responded: “Well, if they don’t know where they’re going…”
However, another bridesmaid Kayla slipped up and said: ‘The only thing is he’s booked it in Paris.”
Desperate to cover up the mistake, Shanise interjected: “How do we know it’s Paris? I don’t get it.”
It was enough to get producers on the scent – so when the bridesmaids later visited Yanis’ house for what they thought was a dress fitting, they were challenged about what they knew.
A person working behind the scenes on the show said: “Okay guys I’m going stop you there. We normally would do a bridesmaids reveal but it’s come to our attention that the secret appears to be out and the bridal party know about some of the plans for the wedding.”
After initially denying allegations of cheating, Kayla admitted: “Yeah we do know.”
Yanis later revealed that Shanise had access to his iPad with emails on it.
He told his fiancée on the phone that their wedding had been cancelled because they’d broken the rules.
Shanise asked: “What the hell – what happens now? I need to know – is there a wedding or not?”
Producers then told her: “I know this is difficult but the rules have been broken and we are going to have to cancel this wedding.”
The couple admitted a week later that they were “heartbroken” by the decision.
Yanis said: “I try not to think about it. I’m trying to detach myself from the whole situation and what’s happened.
“I understand what Shanise did…I don’t agree with it. It wasn’t the right thing to do.”
