HUNG OUT TO DRY

Dad sparks bizarre debate after saying pegs should be left on the clothes line between washes

A DAD has sparked a bizarre debate over whether pegs should be left on the washing line in between laundry loads.

Bruno Bouchet, 33, uploaded two snaps of his washing line to, one with the pegs on and one with the pegs off.

The dad, from Sydney, Australia, revealed he and his wife, Laura, have differing opinions on the subject, and it’s causing a heated debate.

Bruno, a radio personality from Down Under, said: “Big stand-off between Laura and me … do you keep the pegs on or take them off between ‘hangings’?

“I’m a big ‘pegs on’ guy because they’re right at your fingertips when you go to hang clothes, but Laura thinks they get in the way.

“Keen to know who’s right and who’s wrong.”

The dad to Juliette even backed up his theory with some calculations, assuming that people hang out the washing twice a week from the age of 16 to 85.

He said: “It takes one minute to put the pegs away and one minute to take then back out.”

Bruno worked out that over 69 years of hanging laundry to dry, the average person will have “wasted 10 days of your life”.

His stance has ignited a debate, with dozens of people wading into the issue online.

Commenting on social media, one person said: “What’s the point of the peg basket if it were pegs on?”

Another thought: “Pegs 100% off, the only reason to leave them on is if you are hanging everything in exactly the same spot time and time again....”

A third wrote: “It’s a given that the pegs must stay on for convenience. Work smart, not hard!!!”

While this person pointed out: “A primary issue is that sun exposure breaks down the structural integrity of the peg and they become brittle and snap.

“Such might seem to be overcome to a degree through wooden pegs, but they are often subject to rot and mould.”

It’s not the first time Bruno has caused a stir online, previously ranking chocolate bars which caused an outrage.
