Decathlon launches ‘leggings for everyone’ as part of body positive gym range

WHILST some of us love working out, for others it can be a very daunting process but Decathon are hoping to make it easier for a legion of new gym goers.

Decathlon, have launched a new collection of fitness leggings aimed at all body shapes, types, heights and sizes.

These are leggings for everyone

The features sizes XS-XXL and different waist height options, and have been designed for a range of body shapes to empower more women to take up exercise and sport.

We are all used to seeing gym clothes modelled on just athletic bodies – but no more.

The leggings have been modelled on seven fitness influencers – with seven different body shapes and sizes.

Decathlon has partnered with seven fitness influencers, including Kat Henry (@kat_v_henry), Nazia Khatun (@fitnessbornuk1), Gemma Cheung (@gemma_cheung),  Emma Obayuvana (@emmaoba_), Zoiey Smale (@zoieysmale), Sabrina Nicoli (@sabrinanicoli) and Faye Edwards (@fayes_fitness).

The girls have been testing out their new collection, and providing honest reviews, and how the new designs suit their body type on their social media channels – so you know how they actually look and feel.

The leggings have also all been designed with real women in mind, and practical design features including in core support, pockets and quality fabric to stop leggings appearing transparent (the last thing you want during squats).

All leggings for the more technical designs, and you can see the full range here.

Anca Amariei, Cardio Sport Manager at Decathlon UK said: “It can be daunting to exercise in gyms or exercise classes with other people when you don’t feel confident about yourself, and we know that how you feel in workout clothing plays an important part of this. We felt that most legging designs currently on the market cater to a small proportion of women, who fit a certain idea of the female shape. We wanted to create a collection that would cater to real women of all shapes and sizes, so that more women can feel confident when practicing sport or exercising.

“We deliberately ensured that not only would the leggings fit a range of different shapes and sizes – but that the models they will be displayed on are reflective of a diverse range of body types, to promote inclusivity and positivity. It is our hope that this collection will empower more women to take up exercise.”
