Sarah Ferguson shares joy at Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi engagement as sister Eugenie says ‘you two are meant to be’
PROUD mum Sarah Ferguson has shared touching snaps of her daughter Princess Beatrice and fiancé Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi on Instagram to celebrate their engagement.
Her eldest daughter announced her engagement to her boyfriend of ten months this morning, and the Duchess of York was quick to share her congratulations.
Taking to Instagram Fergie, as she is affectionately known, shared six photos of the 31-year-old princess with her millionaire husband-to-be.
The set includes four black and white photos taken by professional photographer Misan Harriman at Royal Lodge, Windsor Great Park.
The photographs see the couple putting on a very tactile display as they gaze into one another’s eyes and embrace before the camera.
Sarah also shared two colour photos taken by her younger daughter Princess Eugenie.
Captioning the photos, she wrote: “@princesseugenie took the colour photographs as my girls are so close. Beatrice and Edo wanted her to capture this special moment.
“The black and white photographs were taken by Misan Harriman at Royal Lodge, Windsor Great Park.
“Quote from Misan Harriman: ‘Everything clicks when they are together and that’s exactly what my lens captured. It was an honour to observe and document such love.’”
She later shared a tweet, writing: "I know what a mother feels so I have tears of joy. I am so proud of this sensational news. Andrew and I are just the luckiest people ever to have two great sons in law."
Eugenie, who married her husband Jack Brooksbank last October, was quick to congratulate her sister on the news.
She shared the three snaps she had taken herself, which saw her older sibling, whom she affectionately calls Beabea, posing in a floral dress costing £595 by Zimmermann.
Captioning her Instagram post, Eugenie wrote: "Beabea - wow! I'm so happy for you my dearest big sissy and dear Edo. It's been a long time coming and you two are meant to be. 📷 by me!!"
The palace announced the engagement today.
The 31-year-old gushed she "can't wait" to get married after her boyfriend of ten months popped the question in Italy earlier this month.
In a statement released by Buckingham Palace, the princess and her fiance said: "We are extremely happy to be able to share the news of our recent engagement.
"We are both so excited to be embarking on this life adventure together and can't wait to be married.
"We share so many similar interests and values and we know this will stand us in great stead for the years ahead, full of love and happiness."
