My ex-girlfriend is set on making my life a misery after I dumped her for cheating
DEAR DEIDRE: WHEN my ex cheated on me, I ended our relationship – but she’s making my life a misery.
She messaged me after the split telling me to leave her alone, which I did, but then she texted saying she was about to take her own life. I was worried, so I tried calling and texting her.
She then told the police I was harassing her.
Luckily, I still had her message about killing herself so the police just told me not to contact her again.
We are both 24 and she texted me again last week trying to guilt-trip me into giving her money, saying her mum is dying.
I told the police but they said there is nothing they can do and just not to contact her.

Let your important contacts know the new number but keep your current number, too. If she sends you more messages, they could be valuable evidence in the future.
If she continues to pester you, contact Victim Support for further advice (, 0808 1689 111).
