My son has been caught having sex at work on CCTV and I don’t know how to approach the situation

DEAR DEIDRE: MY lad was caught on CCTV having sex with a girl at work. It’s happened more than once and I’m worried about the fallout.

He is 21 and has been with his girlfriend for two years. My daughter is 24 and her husband’s brother works in security at the same firm as my son.

He told my son-in-law, who thinks we should say something to our lad.

My boy doesn’t take bad news very well and can be volatile at times – but there are redundancies coming up at his firm, so his job is already at risk.

I am 46 and my husband, who’s 47, says we can’t just leave them to it.

But I want to stay out of any conflict.

DEIDRE SAYS:  The best plan would be for your son-in-law’s brother to give your lad a friendly warning that his antics have been caught on camera.

That way your son need not feel it has been gossiped about round the family and is less likely to get angry.

But if he can be volatile, that in itself could be a risk to his job and he should learn to control his temper.

My e-leaflet on Managing Anger explains how.
