DEAR DEIDRE: AFTER asking a woman I was dating to split the bill, she said she didn’t want to see me again as she wanted a man with style – and money!
The last woman I dated insisted on paying her way as she said she “didn’t ever want to owe a man”, so I didn’t even think about offering to pay.
I’m 26 and my date was 27.
Did I do something wrong?
I thought about a nice restaurant, picked out a nice shirt and made sure I got there with plenty of time so that she wouldn’t be waiting around.
It seems that there is so much to think about with dating, I worry I won’t ever be able to get it all right.

MORE FROM DEAR DEIDRE
DEIDRE SAYS: You did nothing wrong.
Some women like to be wined and dined but a growing number feel happier splitting the bill.
I’m sorry this woman was so rude about her preferences.
