I don’t trust my daughter is mine and my ex is refusing a DNA test
DEAR DEIDRE: MY ex is refusing to allow a DNA test on our youngest daughter to prove she’s mine.
We were together for 12 years. She’s 35 and I’m 37. We split up because I found out that she was cheating on me.
She did the school run one morning and afterwards, I used the same car for work. Her phone had fallen under the seat.
She had 10 missed calls from a guy I go to the gym with, so when it rang again I answered.
He’s a butcher and when I confronted him, he said he was calling about some meat she’d ordered. I knew he was lying. She’s a vegetarian.
I argued with my wife about it and eventually, she admitted to an affair.
Our break-up was amicable. My girls are 10 and four.
I’m in the process of drawing up my will and I suddenly realised that my youngest may not be mine. She’s so different from her sister with blond curls and blue eyes. My older one is dark like me.
I want to be sure they’re both mine before I write my will but my ex says a DNA test will never happen.
