My boyfriend can’t make his mind up about me

DEAR DEIDRE: ONE minute my boyfriend says he loves me, and the next, he just wants to be friends. I’m so confused.

We’ve been together for six months. I’m 17 and he’s 18.

Initially he said he didn’t have time for a girlfriend. Then he changed his mind.

Sometimes he’s really affectionate and caring, and other times he’s distant and doesn’t reply to messages.

It makes me feel like I’m being used for sex. I just need to know where I stand.

DEIDRE SAYS: Your boyfriend is sending you mixed messages.

He probably doesn’t intend to hurt you. He may not be mature enough to know what he wants.

But it’s not fair to mess you around – you deserve better.

Tell him how you feel and ask him to make up his mind, or you’ll walk away.
